more Tony doodlin :C
I was going to draw a cat over it because I felt awful about it but I guess I’ll put it up here too since I spent a lot of time on it.
What is anatomy
Rei, hush. Stop being ashamed of your work. I really enjoy how you do bodies, you can see the actual braiding motion of the body, the dynamism of it all. My only, only qualm with it is how short the torso is - the ribcage itself stops where the humerus is, and then you can fit another head in before the actual bowl of the pelvis on an idealized body; on the halfway point of the theoretical head that’s been added, the iliac crest should protrude on the flesh of the torso (another half a head should be added below his pecs. I’m a horrible teacher. Sorry.)
BUT. I also can’t see the full figure, so I’m not totally sure (is he standing or sitting? this makes a big difference). I really shouldn’t even leave that crit anyway, my stuff is either somewhat anatomically correct and stiff as shit, or it’s bollocks anatomy-wise and it’s loose and looks like actual movement. Your art incorporates anatomy and movement and it’s something I do aspire to. Your hands themselves are so delicate-yet-masculine and very telling of the moment - and his face.
His face.
I hope you don’t take this the wrong way, but your faces have so vastly improved since I first saw you on tf2chan - you’ve improved by leaps and bounds and not suffered long bouts of stiffness. Since my actual anatomy class that taught me how body language and heads/faces/expressions work, my faces are sort of frozen and uninspired and I’m currently working at making them work.
It’s butts Rei. And your art isn’t.
SO STOP PUTTING YOURSELF DOWN. >/
